Yuval Noah Harari, Sapiens. A Brief History of Humankind

Harari

In the essay Sapiens: A Brief History of Human Kind, Dr. Yuval Noah Harari presents an interesting summary of how an animal, without any special characteristic evolve into what humans are today.

The 400 pages of the book are divided into 4 parts: The Cognitive Revolution, The Agricultural Revolution, The Unification of Humankind and the Scientific Revolution. Inside them, there’re other revolutions mentioned like the industrial, information, and the biotechnological ones.

From an atheist and most of the time distant point of view, the writer explains how every hit into our path make way for the next step in our evolution from animals into Gods. Lots of dates and interesting historical details appear in the book and everything is told more like a story than history. However, of course, among so much information one cannot completely agree with everything said by the author, but the questions and considerations made by the author deserve a deep though by the reader. And this is the magic of good books, when they do not end on the paper…
