B3d · Pavillion D of the urban planners
Sart Tilman Campus - URBANISTES 1 District
Traverse des Architectes 4
4000 Liège
Erected even before the urban development plan for the site was drawn up, these seven prefabricated pavilions (B3 a-b-d-e-f-g-h) were designed so that the first architects of Sart Tilman (André Jacqmain, Roger Bastin, Pierre Humblet, Jean Maquet and Charles Vandenhove) could meet, work, exhibit their models and even live in the heart of the estate, with the work cells complete with sleeping area, shower and small kitchen.
Evoking hunting cabins, they are in perfect harmony with the surrounding forest, separated by grassy areas and hedges. The passage from one to the other is via narrow paths of light-colored flagstones, giving the ensemble the appearance of a forest village, next to the dwelling of Claude Strebelle (B3c), coordinator of Sart Tilman*.
