As a public university open to the world and is anchored in the scientific, cultural and economic development of its region, the University of Liège relies on its three pillars: teaching, research and community service.
ULiège trains responsible citizens who are provided with cutting-edge knowledge and critical thinking, are able to share knowledge and can push forward an increasingly complex world.
ULiège develops and promotes excellence in research, multidisciplinary and direct engagement with its instruction.
Global exposure is a top priority at the University of Liège. The institution offers a wide range of international mobility opportunities to students, researchers and staff, enabling them to enhance their cross-disciplinary skills and language knowledge.
ULiège: an experience of daily living. Located in 3 cities and 4 campuses, the university is a key player in terms of the environment and mobility.
If you have the opportunity, we invite you to pool your car journeys or combine them with other modes of transport to reach the ULiège campuses.
C
onscious of the importance of campus accessibility to the attractiveness of the Institution, ULiège is developing a number of actions and projects, brought together in an ambitious, intermodal mobility policy, to facilitate and secure travel for members of the university community. One of the objectives of the University of Liège's mobility policy is to reduce the number of vehicles on its campuses, or to combat the use of cars for self-soloing.
The University of Liège has its own car-sharing platform: the UGo platform.
This is reserved for all members of the ULiège community, its alumni, as well as members of the staff of the CHU de Liège. Since February 2018, it has also been open to employees of the City and CPAS of Liège, with this partnership marking the start of the carpooling platform's expansion. It then expanded to include staff from the Province of Liège and students from the HEPL.
Currently, over 4,000 users are registered on the platform.
UGo's objectives are clear: to respond to both occasional (public transport disruptions) and recurring mobility problems (CO2 emissions in urban areas, traffic congestion at rush hour, etc.).
TheUGo platform also offers the possibility of creating recurring trips. All that's left for users to do is to take care of the association proposals submitted to them. The process is therefore simple, fully integrated into the platform, and can easily be used as an everyday mode of transport.
To support carpooling, Wallonia has set up a network of secure, accessible parking lots close to major roads, enabling carpoolers to easily reach a common meeting point and start carpooling.
Today, over 2,500 spaces in 92 parking lots are available free of charge!
