Secure bicycle parking: projects and a subsidy from Wallonia
Aware that quality parking facilities are essential for the development of cycling to and on its campuses, ULiège will soon be making new secure facilities available to its community.

Healthy, economical, and avoiding all parking problems, walking is no doubt one of the most suitable modes of transportation for traveling short distances.

To combat the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle, we recommend incorporating at least 30 minutes of physical activity into your daily routine to stimulate blood circulation and reduce muscular tension.
As well as reducing stress, alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety, improving physical fitness and enhancing memory and concentration, walking is known to stimulate brain activity! It wouldn't be surprising if new ideas or solutions to a problem encountered in the course of a professional task came to light during these periods!

To encourage walking on its campuses, the University of Liège is working to create wide, safe and, if possible, well-lit paths to move between buildings. It has also produced "pedestrian maps" to estimate the travel time between the sites in the centre of Liège, Sart Tilman and Gembloux.

To get from one building to another, it is quite possible to leave your car in the car park and avoid wasting time looking for a parking space. An adapted directional signage installation was finalised in autumn of 2016. A survey of footpaths was performed. It will lead to rehabilitation projects and new soft pathways. In particular:
