* MICROSYS is a laboratory of the University of Liège, part of the EMMI (Electronics, Microsystems, Measurements and Instrumentation) research unit.
The Microsys laboratory was created in 2007 with support from the Walloon government and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The main activities of the laboratory are
- exploratory research in the fields of micro-assembly, interconnection techniques and packaging, including systems for harsh environments and biochips
- exploratory research into MEMS sensors, including simulation, design and characterization
- development of innovative, high-performance energy recovery systems
- design of ultra-low-energy microsystems from off-the-shelf, packaged components or bare chips
The Microsys team comprises 15 highly qualified members (including 2 professors and 4 PhDs).
Microsys has a 200 m² ISO7-certified clean room (class 10,000) and a wide range of equipment for the production and characterization of microsystems.
