Located next door to the Institut de Botanique, the CWBI develops and implements Europe-wide research programs on fundamental and applied topics, such as :
- the study and selection of strains (bacterial, yeast or mold) with specific characteristics,
- study of microbial physiology,
- the study of metabolites produced by microorganisms.
It ensures the development of new high-tech processes as well as the optimization of traditional processes, for example :
- the study and selection of strains (bacteria, yeast or mold) with specific characteristics,
- study of the drying kinetics of microorganisms and metabolites,
- purification of substances of microbial origin,
- the study of product packaging by atomization and encapsulation.
The CWBI is located next door to the Institut de Botanique.
