oger le Toré has been the official mascot of ULiège since September 2022. Inspired by the bull, an iconic symbol of Liège tradition, he embodies the energy, openness, and collective spirit that drive the university community.

Present at student, sporting, and institutional events, Roger brings a warm and unifying touch. He also serves as a symbol of identity, wearing the University's colors.

Roger: Behind the Horns...

🗳️ A carefully chosen identity

Roger’s name was selected through a survey of ULiège students and staff. He even helped narrow down the options himself—just to avoid ending up as “Carbonade” or “Torémolinos.” A bull has to maintain some dignity.

🏃‍♂️ More athletic than he looks

Filming his launch video clip left him sweating buckets! At the time, Roger was convinced that 60 sports on the ULiège campus sounded excessive for any bull—especially for one sporting the most majestic belly curve on campus.

🤝 Part of the herd... and absolutely the star

Roger maintains cordial relations with the mascots of other French-speaking Belgian institutions during championships. Yet he remains firmly persuaded—modest creature that he is—that his hip wiggle technique is, objectively speaking, championship-level.

🌍 A Global Citizen (with Hooves)

If Roger could talk, he would surely chat in 140 languages, negotiate in 12 dialects of bovine, and order fries fluently in every country. A cultured bull for a cultured campus.

🐂 A party-loving cousin

You may already have crossed paths with his cousin—brown, thin, with a slightly bewildered bovine gaze. Less attentive to personal grooming, he happily stands in for Roger during Saint-Toré or the UniFestival.

📸 The crowd favorite

Roger is a bona fide superstar among students and spectators. During the 15 km Liège Métropole race, he happily throws himself into the sea of runners—sweat, shouts, selfies and all. But nothing compares to his favourite time of year: the arrival of new students. He becomes a full-time model, striking poses, perfecting his “toré face,” and basking in the admiration. Phones come out, cameras flash, and within minutes Roger has once again broken the internet on Instagram and TikTok.

🧇 Guilty pleasures

Roger lives for Liège waffles and the occasional post-match beer. But a sweet slice of pie? Absolutely not! Do not ask why, even he can't explain it- bull logic is mysterious.
