Faculty of Architecture

Studying at the Faculty of Architecture in Liège means developing the knowledge and techniques needed to design tomorrow's built world, based on 4 areas of reflection: sustainability, society, digital technology and art. What will tomorrow's homes look like? How can citizens reclaim public space? Where and how can we build or rebuild to cope with natural disasters? These are just some of the highly topical questions that architects are trying to answer.

Located in the heart of the city of Liège, an inexhaustible field of observation and experimentation for studying landscape, urban and architectural changes, and for developing projects, the Faculty of Architecture will enable you to come into contact with the various institutions linked to the territory and the city, with the professional world and with local residents. From the very start of your training, you'll build up your career gradually, combining a broad theoretical background with architecture workshops. Travel, visits and encounters are also part of each year's training program, reinforcing the already convivial spirit of the faculty.

The Faculty is located in the city center, which is directly served by a vast network of public transport (train, bus and streetcar).

All bachelor's workshops are held on Boulevard de la Constitution 41, 4020 Liège (E1 - Site Fonck).
Master's workshops are divided between Boulevard de la Constitution and the Pitteurs site (located a few minutes' walk from the Faculty, in the same district) - Place Delcour 17, 4020 Liège (Ancien institut de Physiologie)

Theoretical courses are given in the Faculty's auditoriums or auditoriums Opéra, Place de la République Française 35, 4000 Liège (right next to the Opéra de Liège).

We recommend that you stay in an area close to the Faculty, around the Fonck site (Boulevard de la Constitution 41, 4020 Liège) , so that you can easily walk to your classes , and make it easier for you to get around when you need to transport equipment and a (sometimes imposing!) model

For example, you can opt for :

• The Outremeuse district (home of the Faculty, home of Liège folklore, on the other side of the Meuse)
• Hors château/Feronstrée (historic heart of the city)
• Liège city center (close to festivities and shops)
• Saint Léonard district (friendly, multicultural and lively)
• Amercoeur district (residential and commercial)

Students generally opt for accommodation with a private landlord in Liège (kot). The number of rooms available in student residences has also increased in recent years.

Around 7,000 student accommodations are available in all parts of the city and around the campuses (kots, rooms, studios, apartments, houses).

There's plenty to choose from, and average prices remain affordable compared to other major university cities.

On the faculty site, in a single location, it is possible to access not only the resources of the ULiege Library Architecture - the architecture section of the university library - but also those of the library of the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc Liège.

• Cafeteria / ASBL L'Echafaudage: The cafeteria, shared with the neighboring Ecole Supérieure des Arts, offers drinks and snacks from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
• Cafétéria site des Pitteurs (ISLV - Zone Outremeuse -  L5), from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm)

In town, you'll also find plenty of opportunities to eat out at affordable prices, and plenty of pleasant places to spend time with students.

There are no specific sports facilities on the Liège Centre-ville campus.

While most ULiège Sports activities are organized at Blanc Gravier sports centers (Sart Tilman), some sports are also offered in Liège city center. These include aerobics, climbing, field hockey...

When it comes to culture, the city center of Liège is also full of cultural activities.

The Faculty of Architecture has a student circle and a party committee. At the beginning of each year, the circle offers an "Archi Pack" containing all the necessary equipment that a student starting out in architecture needs to have (at an attractive price!)

In general, ULiège supports its students in their studies in a variety of ways, whether in terms of quality of life, success assistance, well-being or social aspects.

Within the secretariat of each Faculty or School, the assistants are the students' key contacts for all administrative matters, particularly those concerning exam organization, timetables, certificates of achievement, official transcripts, etc
