The role of the engineer, computer scientist or data scientist is to develop the technological solutions needed to build our future. The courses offered by the School of Engineering will prepare you to play an active role in meeting the major challenges facing our society: climate change, energy supply, sustainable use of natural resources, an aging population, mobility, a more inclusive digital society, housing adapted to new lifestyles..

The quality of ULiège's training courses is recognized far beyond Belgium's borders, notably through their accreditation by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (France) and the European EUR-ACE label. Some programs, such as Aerospace or the double degree in Digital Business, are unique in French-speaking Belgium.

Preparatory activities

To help its future students, the School offers a wide range of preparatory activities. Mock tests, preparatory courses, lectures, laboratory visits and more. A whole program to help you prepare for the start of your studies at the School of Engineering.

The School of Engineering is located on the Sart Tilman campus in Angleur. The campus is divided into large neighborhoods and is served by several bus lines. The School is based in the Polytech district:

• B28 (Montefiore Institute: electricity, electronics and computer science)
• B37 (mathematics institute)
• B52 (mechanics and civil engineering)

However, the vast majority of courses for the first year of the bachelor are taught in the Agora district:

• Grands and Petits Amphithéâtres (B7a and B7b)
• Amphithéâtres de l'Europe (B4)

Some courses can also be held at the Amphithéâtres Opéra (O2) in the city center, which is directly served by a vast network of public transport (train, bus and tramway).

The School is located on the Sart Tilman campus. You have the option of living just a stone's throw away from your courses, on or near the campus. You can also choose to live in downtown Liège, close to shops and cultural venues, and commute to campus daily. Whatever your preference, there's always something to suit your needs.

Around 7,000 student accommodation options are available throughout the city and around the Sart Tilman campus (rooms, studios, apartments, houses). There's plenty to choose from, and average prices are still affordable compared to other major university cities.

The Polytech library located on the Sart Tilman campus (Polytech district, B52/4) is attached to the School of Engineering.

In addition to the libraries, the Sart Tilman campus and the city center offer a number of spaces specially designed for students, including study, relaxation and co-working areas.

On the Sart Tilman campus, there are several options for eating out close to the School of Engineering.

With its greenery and wooded paths, the Sart Tilman is in itself an open-air sports area. You can walk, run or cycle along the many paths that cross the area.

The site also boasts several sports facilities:

In terms of culture, the Sart Tilman campus is home to the open air museum. Liège city center is also full of cultural activities.

In general, ULiège supports its students in their studies in a variety of ways, whether in terms of quality of life, success assistance, well-being or social aspects.
