The Central Alarm Station, like building B11, was one of the very first to be built on the Sart Tilman university site (1967, Claude Strebelle).
Its role was - and still is - crucial, as it centralizes the command and control of a whole series of networks on the estate. Electricity, water, gas, alarms, elevators, Internet and telephone networks, cameras and access control are all managed from this nerve center.
The floor plan is U-shaped, with the free space between the bars of the U forming an entrance area beneath which the electrical cables distributing the entire estate penetrate.
The facades, almost entirely clad in Eternit sheets, feature low-height banded windows, all to maintain the thermal insulation required for this type of building. (*)
