The B5c building for the Institute of Astrophysics and Geophysics dates from 2002. It is part of the third construction phase of the Sart Tilman university site. With its simple architecture and original whistle shape, its salmon-colored brickwork was designed by Jacques Antoine.

From an architectural point of view, this third phase of construction presents certain characteristics. Concrete remains the material of choice, but its treatment differs from previous construction periods.

The latest projects feature a distinctive architectural style, combining formal reflection, simple volumes and clear internal organization. This tendency towards purity can be seen as a reaction to the organizational and formal complexity of some of the buildings in the second phase of construction on the Sart Tilman site.
