Inaugurated in October 1996, building B4 is certainly one of the most visited buildings at Sart Tilman. The venue for numerous events for prospective students and the general public throughout the year, it also hosts the official "Rentrée académique" ceremony in mid-September.

By constructing such a building, the University wanted to create a landmark, a symbol marking one of the northern entrances to the Sart Tilman estate.

The building contains 3 amphitheaters seating 600, 300 and 200, 3 auditoriums seating 100 and 80 and 4 classrooms seating 50 and 30, as well as a cafeteria, ancillary services and a large "Pas perdus" room.

The perception of construction is sometimes described as an open book, sometimes as a bird with outstretched wings.

At the front of the building, you can see the work of Nic Joosen, La feuille, l'aile, la paupière, from Musée en plein air du Sart Tilman.
