L5 · Language training centre

In the heart of the Outremeuse district, the University of Liège brings together all its translation and interpreting courses, as well as the Institut supérieur des langues vivantes (ISLV). After nearly two years of construction work, the "de Pitteurs" site was inaugurated on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

This university site - where the Translation and Interpreting program and theInstitut Supérieur des Langues Vivantes (ISLV) join the Centre d'études japonaises already located in the former Institut d'Anatomie - reinforces its position as a major center for language training.

With a 270-seat amphitheatre, numerous classrooms fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and a language laboratory, this site is a veritable showcase for language learning, right in the heart of the city.

Building L5, a new construction linked to building L3 - Ancien Institut d'Anatomie by a glass walkway, will be the new living and study space for the Translation and Interpretation program. Designed with today's environmental challenges in mind (installation of photovoltaic panels, rainwater recovery, efficient heating and ventilation control, devices promoting soft mobility), it comprises 17 classrooms, including one equipped for conference interpretation, a study room seating around 100 and a relaxation room. It will house both daytime and evening classes.
