La lumière, qui nous semble si familière, jouit de propriétés particulières qui la rendent parfois très mystérieuse.
Et puis, qu’appelle-t-on « lumière » ? Celle que nos yeux perçoivent ? Celle, plus étendue, que peuvent détecter nos instruments de mesure ? Celles qui nous sont peut-être encore inconnues ?
L’exposé s’efforcera de... jeter un peu de lumière sur ces notions en donnant quelques détails sur le comportement de cet agent si familier, et pourtant quelquefois si inconnu.
Après un baccalauréat en physique à l’ULiège, suivi par une maîtrise à l’ULB et par un Mathematical Tripos Part III à l’université de Cambridge, il prépare actuellement un doctorat en physique à l’ULB.
En avril 2018, il avait offert une balade guidée dans l’immensité de notre Univers.
Fondée en 1938 par trois jeunes amateurs, la S.A.L. compte désormais parmi les plus importantes associations astronomiques du pays, avec près de 600 membres.
Depuis 2001, la Région Wallonne héberge la S.A.L. et son siège social dans les bâtiments de l’Observatoire de Cointe, qu’elle a rachetés à l’Université de Liège.
